Bees browsing clover— each pressing its whole body into the blossoms.
Everything is just right—a pair of hummingbirds wage their tiny war.
Elusive chipmunk among the herbs—dog dives in, aroma of mint.
I will be with you like the trees, like the land, like the seeds—when you land. - When you land, I’ll be there—with home, with fresh bread, with the ready seeds.
Reading in the sun— a hummingbird’s shadow, wild and briefly written.
Two attempts on the same idea below—one in haiku, one in free verse.
--- Mosquito hovers outside the frame of my book, stealing attention. - The whole world is a margin around this book. I am trying to bring such focus, and this mosquito and these thoughts keep hovering and hovering, demanding attention.
